On this Veterans Day, I had a chance to speak with former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist on a Manhattan sidewalk. In the course of our conversation, I asked him if he had any regrets about supporting the War in Iraq. He said that he did. Then I asked him if, given what has happened, he would do it again? He blamed the “intelligence” but said, knowing what we know now, he would not have supported the war.
It’s important that the self-destructive path the country is on be reversed, but for that to happen we need to be correctable.
